Library of Congress Digitizes Polk Papers

The Library of Congress has digitized its James K. Polk Papers, the world’s largest archival collection of documents related to the eleventh president. On the library’s site, users can view thousands of original letters, speeches, diaries, and other papers. This new resource is an excellent companion to the Correspondence of James K. Polk, which features annotated transcriptions of many of the letters in the Library of Congress’s collection along with those from numerous other repositories.
